This Blankie Has Seen Better Days

Ella has been pestering me to fix the gaping hole in her blanket for a while. Her poor blanket has seen better days. It used to be bigger, have a cute pink and white crocheted edge and wasn't almost see through like it is now. I don't know how much longer it will last. A year? Maybe two? I must say since the Binki Fairy came, she hasn't "needed" it as much and we can actually leave it at home when we leave the house. That's one giant step. Giant.
The Problem

The Ginormous Hole that I have to
figure out how to fix.

The answer! The burp cloths that came with the blanket!
They never got used as actual burp cloths considering
they are completely non-absorbent. This picture is after I cut
the edge off so I could separate the front and back.

A quick trip around the edges with the serger.

A quick zig zag stitch on my sewing machine to cover the hole.

The back of the blanket. Its hard to believe that
the burp cloth is the color that the blanket used to be.
