Happy Mother's Day
My Mother's Day started with the opening of two presents from two very excited girls. Kate gave me a framed letter she had written about the many things she likes about me. My favorite part of her letter was: "You can do things other Mom's can't do." Darn strait! I am not sure what some of those things are but they probably involve touching bugs, rodents and other creepy crawlies. I generally am not afraid of anything in the creepy crawly department and I am proud to say I think my girls think I am the coolest because of it.
Ella informed me on Friday when she brought home my Mother's Day present from school that it was made of glass. Lately she is really interested to know what things are made of. Usually the answer is plastic, plastic and more plastic. She gave me a lovely little votive decorated with tiny pieces of crepe paper and a yummy smelling candle. She was so pleased with herself and was just bursting with pride that she had made me something. Loved it - and her!
Later that day we had dinner at my parents house and then went up Rose Creek Canyon for a little hike. We had not been hiking for a while and I forgot how fun it is. We had a blast exploring and playing with my Mom's two Jack Russell Terriers. We nicknamed Ella "hiker girl" because despite feeling crummy (I think she has allergies!) she was a trooper and hiked most of the way in and out.
logical place to put them seemed to be our hair.

Happy Mother's Day!!! I am happy to hear you had such a great mother's day. Just to let you know, your little brother took care of me. WE called your mom last night and she told Rick about your hiking trip, so it was nice to see pictures of the adventure. We can't wait to come out this summer. Take care
Way fun pictures. Thanks for sharing. I think you need to take my kids on a hike!
YOu are more woman than I. I don't do creepy crawlies PERIOD!
Won't it be nice when the kids are out of school and you can go hiking everyday! I don't know about that snake. It would take a few minutes of deep breathing for me to fake like I liked holding a snake for my kids.
Holy Smokes...You are brave! I am terrified of snakes and there are an abundance of them here in Georgia. We have already found two of them in our yard this spring. Maybe you can do away with the problem when you come to visit. :)
